. The spirit of a place embodies the personality of a locality, sacred site, mountain, stream or forest where it resides. Invariably it present itself as a male or female character who's age and mannerisms reflect the essential inner nature of the place. This is the chief spirit representative of a place. For this reason it is extremely worthwhile to connect with them and consult with them when investigating the stories of the place itself
And we also, of course, have the local faery spirits living on the land. They come in many varieties large and small and many shapes and forms. They range in height from two to four feet and they often appear as small 'people like' beings whose features reflect closely the natural shapes and forms in their local environment. The faeries in one locality share a distinctive family set of features while those in another place may have a different 'family' look entirely. More than this the facial features we see in them will also be reflected in the outcrops shapes and crooked noses on randum trees and stones found around the place where they reside...
